GI Jiu-Jitsu

Open to all belt levels. Perfect for those who have completed the beginner course or have previous experience.

What is Gi Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)?

Gi Jiu-Jitsu is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practiced with the traditional uniform — the gi. The jacket, pants, and belt are part of the game. You hold the sleeves, collar, and pant legs to control your partner, slow them down, and build clean technique.

Training in the gi teaches you real fundamentals. It makes you use timing, balance, and good structure instead of strength. The game is calmer and more technical, which helps you understand Jiu-Jitsu on a deeper level.

In the gi you develop:

  • Solid basic positions and good posture
  • Strong grips and control
  • Clear reactions and problem-solving
  • A more complete Jiu-Jitsu for both gi and no-gi

At AOGG, we teach gi Jiu-Jitsu in a simple, structured way. You don’t need speed or strength — just patience, consistency, and a willingness to learn. The gi is where your foundation grows, whether you’re training for fun, fitness, or competition.

This is where your Jiu-Jitsu truly starts.
